A review has uncovered that nearly 90 flights connected to Jeffrey Epstein reportedly arrived at and departed from British airfields, with some allegedly having onboard British women who allege they were abused by the convicted sex offender.
These aviation records were part of a trove of court documents and files released by the estate of Jeffrey Epstein that have been made public over the previous twelve months. The analysis identified 87 flights linked to Epstein – featuring many that were not previously known – coming into or leaving from UK airports between the start of the 1990s and 2018.
Unnamed female passengers were listed among the travelers entering and exiting the UK. Crucially, 15 of these British airport journeys occurred subsequent to Epstein’s 2008 guilty verdict for soliciting sex from a minor.
“It was ‘astonishing’ that there had never been a ‘comprehensive British inquiry’ into his activities in the country,” said US lawyers acting for numerous Epstein victims.
Evidence from one of the British victims aided the conviction of Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell of child sex-trafficking in the US in 2021. However, that victim has never been contacted by British law enforcement, as stated by her attorney based in Florida.
In a statement, the London's Metropolitan Police indicated they had “not been provided with any further information that would support restarting the investigation.” They noted, “If fresh and pertinent evidence be brought to our attention, encompassing any arising from the release of documents in the US, we will evaluate it.”
A bill to make public every document held by the American government in concerning Epstein was approved by the House and Senate last month. The Department of Justice has until 19 December to follow through. A vast number of documents are anticipated to be released.
Additionally, a federal judge ordered last week that the DOJ could make public case files from a sex-trafficking case against Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime confidante, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence over the allegations.
