Trump over the weekend seemed to support a widely discredited allegation asserting that Caracas controls voting systems globally and caused his electoral loss.
Although White House officials have earlier indicated that the president's approach toward Venezuela is mainly motivated by concerns about migration and illegal drug operations, his latest comments suggest that this antagonism could also stem on an outlandish theory that was ruled false by a court in recent years.
"We need to concentrate our complete attention and power on VOTER FRAUD!!"
Fox News disbursed over three-quarters of a billion dollars in 2023 to election software firm to resolve a legal case that was based in part on identical claims about Caracas' alleged involvement in the presidential election.
The development follows just days after reports emerged that Trump's Department of Justice has been thoroughly questioning conspiracy theorists who are pushing the concept that Caracas manipulates voting companies and flips votes to benefit their selected leaders.
These figures claim to possess documentation of the purported operation and have updated a taskforce located in the southern state.
The president's comments coincide with major defense movements to the vicinity, including the dispatch of a navy aircraft carrier to the Caribbean.
Additionally, the government has increased tension by designating the Venezuelan-based drug trafficking group as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, following prior categorizations by the financial authorities.
"Nobody can say for certain what the procedure is within the administration," remarked a political science professor from an educational institution who focuses on security issues. "When it grabs the president's focus, my assessment is it becomes part of the procedure. Trump needs to find justification in his individual perspective for war."
The expert continued that narcoterrorism claims about Venezuela have not resonated with Trump's base, who have been reluctant to support foreign military action.
Concerning the apparent endorsement of his theory, Gary Berntsen responded: "Trump understands this is NOT A CONSPIRACY THEORY, he understands the facts, evidence in under federal control."
Meanwhile, a critic of the current government who backs decisive steps against the current leadership but is dismissive of the election claims stated that supporters of the conspiracy theory are attempting to take advantage their access to the White House.
