Red Bull Announces Significant 2026 Driver Seats: Hadjar Promoted, Teenager Arvid Lindblad Secures Grand Prix Debut.

Red Bull has announced a new line-up for the 2026 Grand Prix year, elevating French driver Isack Hadjar to its A-team and awarding 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his first Formula 1 seat.

The young driver, who comes from a mixed Swedish-Indian background, will be the partner of New Zealander Liam Lawson at the sister squad Racing Bulls.

This driver musical chairs sees Japan's Yuki Tsunoda being without a drive following a five-year stint.

Who is Arvid Lindblad?

The youngster was marked out as a rising talent by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old.

Regarding the company's young driver programme, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "looks really promising", praising his "natural quickness".

The team has been working since last year to prepare Lindblad for his likely F1 debut in 2026, featuring runs in F1 practice sessions at Silverstone and Mexico City.

The rookie said it was a "proud moment", commenting: "2026 will be a massive test, and I know there's a lot to learn, but I'm ready to work closely with the team and meet the challenge. I am incredibly excited to get started."

He has won a couple of victories in F2 so far this season and is P6 in the standings ahead of the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

The Frenchman's Chance

The Frenchman's debut season began on a low note when he spun out on the formation lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. However, from that point, he has been one of the stand-out rookies of the year.

His performances featured an remarkable top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he lies 10th in the championship.

A senior team figure commented: "Isack has displayed impressive growth and proved to be a fast adapter. Crucially, he has the innate pace that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can thrive alongside Max."

The promoted driver called it "an awesome move" and said he felt "ready".

The Lawson Decision

For the seat at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have chosen Lawson over Tsunoda.

Lawson began the season with the senior squad but was moved back after just two races. He has found his form at Racing Bulls with some strong performances, convincing Red Bull he merits another season.

Tsunoda, meanwhile, loses his place after a difficult season. His best result is a P6, and he has scored a minor percentage of the team's constructors' championship.

These announcements mean that there remains no place on the Red Bull programme for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will continue in F2 for 2026.
