The Streaming Platform is Producing a Popular Game TV Show from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The most recent action-packed game that gamers dived into was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and was released on October 6, 2021. As a series, it is known for embracing action and mayhem with the same enthusiasm, all while weaving captivating, ideologically themed tales. Little surprise that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program pulled in two creators whose work have exemplified all of those elements.

What to Expect

Adapted from Ubisoft's successful video game series, the short-run anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also mirror the video games' style by introducing a different location and group of personalities in every instalment.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as lead producers on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared outstanding relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our collaborators at Ubisoft for trusting us with this cherished property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also appear in the show, but at the time of writing, we are unsure of what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago renewed for a second instalment, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the producer.

“Having the opportunity together with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally supportive, trusting us with one of the most famous video-game worlds ever created. And through it all, my FX partners constantly supports me with their constant confidence and support.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style program. Each game is a interpretation of a theme, the same way every series of Fargo is a version on a premise,” said Hawley. “To create a large-scale action show that can change from one instalment to the next, while always delving into the core of people through this complex and chaotic perspective, is a dream come true. I’m excited to collaborate with Rob and introduce our shared bold, ambitious style to the screen.”

A time frame for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
