This young athlete maintains impressive social media presence
Kai Trump will have numerous high-profile supporters as she makes her professional golf debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be the granddaughter of Donald Trump, obtained a special exemption to participate at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, possesses several international courses and frequently competes against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I can't reveal details but we have some close matches," she stated.
Kai explained that Trump, who won't be present, counseled her: "Simply stay calm."
"He practically suggested to play and have fun," she added.
"To me, he's just a normal grandpa. He can't make it this weekend. He's focused on presidential duties, making him rather occupied."
Being non-professional, the golfer has played in just three tournaments in 2024 and maintains position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
However she's able to get advice from Tiger Woods, who is dating Vanessa.
"He stands as the greatest golfer globally," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's an even better person. He advised me to play, relax, following whatever happens."
Kai will face several most prominent players in the sport at the competition, featuring second-ranked the champion, England's golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
Tournament organizers commented that her participation exposes the sport to wider groups, specifically among youth audiences.
The young star maintains millions of followers and recently launched a personal apparel and wellness label.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
